Joe Rich is a rural, mountainous, community within the Central Okanagan Regional District, where you can truly get out of the city and away from it all. Just a quick 10-minute drive past city limits, it's tucked away behind the rolling hills surrounding Black Mountain at the doorstep of the backcountry, bordering Highway 33. Many properties have gorgeous mountainside and forest views and lots of sun as the hillside faces South (there are North facing properties too). Mission Creek winds its way through the community carrying the spring meltwater down to Okanagan Lake. The Joe Rich neighbourhood is perfect for anyone okay with trading that little extra commute for more privacy and more space. The area has many acreages and ranches making it popular with horse owners and other outdoor enthusiast. At most, you are 5-minutes from the backcountry and for some you can ride your ATV or snowmobile into the mountains right from your property. There is a Community Hall in Joe Rich that holds community events and offers residents a place to take part in tennis and hockey/ice skate. All other amenities are just a 20 minute drive or less from home in the Rutland neighbourhood. In a pinch, you can pick up some grocery basics at the general (Esso station) in Black Mountain.
